Operation via the base

Playing back new messages

ú Press the key to play back all

messages and memos.

If there are new messages, playback begins

with the first new message. After the last

new message you will hear the end tone and

an announcement.

To adjust the volume during message play-

back: u = quieter; v = louder.

Playing back old messages

You can listen to old messages if there are no

more new messages. Begin playback as

described under "Playing back new mes-

sages".

After the entry time and date have been

played back (after approx. 3 seconds) a new

message assumes the status "old".

Stopping and controlling playback

During message playback:

ú Stop playback.

ù Go to the start of the current

message. Press twice to go back

to the previous message.

û Skip to next message.

Press twice to skip to the next

but one message.

Deleting messages

During playback or pause:

ü Press the key to delete the mes-

sage.

You can only delete all old messages if there

are no new messages.

Picking up a call from the

answering machine

You can pick up a call while the answering

machine is recording or is being operated

via remote operation:

P Lift the receiver or press the

speaker key ø.

Recording stops and you can speak to the

caller.

If 2 seconds of the call have already been

recorded when you pick it up, the call will be

displayed as a new message.

Activating/deactivating call

screening

While a message is recording, you can screen

calls via the loudspeaker of the base and reg-

istered handsets.

You can activate or deactivate call screening

permanently via the handset,

¢ page 47.

Recording an announcement

The phone is supplied with a pre-recorded

announcement. If a personal announcement

has not been recorded, the relevant pre-

recorded announcement is used.

ý Press and hold the key.

 Press 1 to select Answer &

Record (AC) mode or

2 2 to select Announce. Only (AO)

mode.

¤ Now speak your announcement (at least

3 seconds).

ú Press the key to end the record-

ing.

Cancel recording with B.

After recording, the announcement is

played back for you to check.

¤ Press ú to end the playback.

¤ Press ü to delete the recording.

Please note:

u Recording ends automatically if the max-

imum recording time of 180 seconds is

exceeded.

u If you cancel the recording, the pre-

recorded announcement will be used

again.
